We took the kids for our family camping trip. In the past we've gone with friends, but this year it was just us. It was so great to spend a couple of days with just us. No electronics, no distractions, no to-do lists. We drove up to McCall (just 2 hours away) and camped right on the lake. It was beautiful!
I tried swimming in the lake and it was HARD. Like sprinting on a treadmill that was on a trampoline. All of the boats made the water really choppy and hard to swim in. No ocean swims for me!
Warming up on the only bears we saw that weekend. I had a perfect moment of happiness sitting on that bear. Watching my children roll down the hill of grass (just to the left) to the beach below. It was perfection.
Ice cream alley ... giant scoops on fresh waffle cones? We'll be there again.
Little C was voted "Best Camp Hair." And "Dirtiest Feet."

Those feet remind me slightly of a Hobbit. Great hair, though. It sounds like a wonderfully wonderful time. And I'm jealous.

So fun. It almost makes me want to go camping. (Almost.)
I hope Mom gets to see that hair. He is his grandmother's grandson.
