Top Twelve Reasons Why My Marriage Rocks

12.  DH loves to organize, clean, do dishes, etc.  While I specialize in washing laundry, he does the putting away.  Perfect harmony!

11.  We both love working in the yard.  There's always a new "vision" to work on in any given area of our post-stamp sized yard.

10.  Ten years of hard work and schooling brought us together as a stronger couple.  We know we can do hard things now, which includes raising kids.

9.  While he's the disciplinarian and play parent, I'm the day-to-day operations and comforter.  Once again, we make a good team.

8.  He loves to send me postcards or letters when we go on a trip away together.  They are always addressed, "To Julia Smith, in c/o (fill in name of hotel or resort)."  He's done it every time, and I definitely take it for granted, but love it!

7.  Every month he makes it a priority to make sure we get to attend the temple once together.

6.  He prays on even days, I pray on odd.  We struck this bargain the week after our honeymoon and have done it ever since.   Our reasoning for the divide?  He's Even Steven.  And I'm Odd Julia.  It works!

5.  We can have separate bedding (not share sheets and blankets) because I like my space and he like the peace.

4.  When we disagree it never gets nasty or personal.  We usually tease or laugh at each other or debate our points, but there are no personal attacks that hurt.

3.  He loves to exercise with me.  And patiently puts up with my competitive side.

2.  He still makes me blush. 'Nough said.

1.  He is himself.  And I'm me.  And together we're better than we are separate!

Happy 12th Steve!

What wonderful insights. I love to see the two of you together, and yes the sum can be greater than the two parts.

This is so sweet. I can honestly say your husband is one of the best guys we know.

I was talking to Amber Smith about you guys the other day. They are thinking about settling in Boise ID. I said I would not be against settling there either. I said how we got to know Steve but didn't get to know you very well in CA. Through your blog and now being a mother myself I would love to have such an incredible family as our neighbors and friends.

You two make a great team! What a sweet post, and I am extremely jealous of #1. We definitely don't share that harmony. We both don't mind doing the laundry, but putting away is our least favorite chore EVER.
