Bye, Bye Huggie

Just had to finally proclaim to the world ... after 11 years of diapers ... I AM FREE!!!  Free of the changing table wrestling match.  Free of putting a dirty diaper outside in the heat, the smell, the freezing cold.  Free of trying to get poop that has escaped the confines off of the surrounding clothes.  Free at last!

It feels really good.  There are no more tears from Honey over the daily duty.  Potty training was quick and easy.  Four days and he was mess free.

Sure there was that brief break in diapers when I had Mr. M and Miss A trained before Little C came along.  But even then I knew my day would come again.  I estimate in the combined 11 years of changing diapers I've changed roughly 16,000 diapers.  Give or take a couple 1,000.

At the end  of the month there's an extra $40 in my wallet now.  That's a new shirt every month for moi.  Or a fun date with my DH.  Or endless cinnamon french toast and buttermilk syrup at Kneaders once a week!

The next diaper I will involuntarily change will probably have the word "adult" somewhere in the title.  This is definitely cause for celebration.

Let's see, Julia. . .Max is how old? 10? 9? 11? Anyhow, I give you another 11 years and you'll be doing
grandbaby diapers willingly.

You are so lucky that you didn't have to slush those dirty diapers out in the toilet. Wonder what they did before running water?

I always look for your blog . . .wondering is you'd given up on us and gone to Facebook.

Love ya,
G:ma

Never to Facebook!! Just really busy with kids and life and ...

Ahh, yes, I'll change the little grandbaby diapers willingly, but it will be a choice to, not compulsory like the last 11 years have been. Which makes, in my opinion, a world of difference!

Having 2 in diapers right now makes me super jealous at the thought of none!

Congratulations! That's a HUGE milestone!

That is really exciting. Today I only have one in diapers. Friday I will have at least 3. hahahaha But then again, I sort of am paid to do that.

I think part of your blogging should include a chronicle of how you spend your extra $40. Obviously it should be exciting! (No pressure)

Congratulations. Isn't it funny that I'm just at the beginning of my foray into diapers?

We'll see if I have your stamina.
