is finding an old friend.
I just stumbled across an old friend's blog and found several. It's so good to read what other people are doing. I was thinking back to our OC days, and remembering all of the fond times we spent at the park with the Nilssons. Or BBQing with the usual group at the small pits, and I miss it. I liked going to book group and having my mind stretched. I liked meeting at the chapel next to the temple. I loved that little neighborhood across from the church where everybody knew everybody else. I liked walking up the steps to our condo and seeing my hydrangea that I planted on my 27th birthday.
Don't get me wrong, I love where I am now, close to family and new friends. It's just a bummer that we can't have it all in one spot, for each of us, some of our favorite people. I guess that's what the internet is for ... keep blogging ladies!

is getting your toddler to sleep.
We're talking Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with little C lately. One minute he's flashing his bigger than life toothy dimpled grin at me and the next he's screeching "NOOOO!" while I try to hand him his plate of food. Then he toddles over to pantry and says, "Cookie." And then there's the grin again. Hope never dies. After I say no, dinner. He's on the floor, inconsolable. Who is this child? Where did my sweet, playful friend go? Bring him back, please.

is knowing that tomorrow, after this overnighter, your DH is home on VACATION!!!
Yeah! It's been a super long month. I am so happy to have him home and off the 100 hours a week schedule. And then it's East Coast, here we come. Our first trip together in the 8+ years of marriage. It's a miracle we're still together, uh? I told him he can make it up to me in the next 8 years. Hawaii, Italy, Canada, New York. Yeah, there's a list.
