• My socks rarely match. They may even be one of my kids' socks.
• I'll leave the house with a shirt that I know is dirty thinking that I'll just blame it on the kids if someone points it out.
• I don't own a pair of nylons.
• The last time I really dressed up (hair, makeup, new shoes and clothes) was my wedding day. Sure I've gotten my game on a few occasions since then, but not the full nine yards.
• My kids call me "the poop-wiper."
• My favorite store is Target. It's were I get my clothes, my household things, kid's stuff and candy. If I'm not home, there's a good chance I'm there.
• I've spent a fortune on unfinished projects.
• In college I would have died before I left the house with my hair washed and done and my makeup on. Now, my hair get washed every other day, if it's a good week, and my makeup bag resides permanently in my glove box in the car in case I'm on my way to something that calls for a little extra something.
• I wear gym shoes, flip flops or a pair of black "clown" shoes with milk stains on them.
Okay, as I look over that list I realize that it's probably not because of being a mom, it's just that I'm a slob. I guess it should be titled, "Confessions of a Slob Mom."
This all came about last night as I was thinking about on of my favorite commercials. It's a Suave ad. It shows a woman in all her glory and then snapshots of her through time, having kids, and the state of her affairs. At the end it says something like "95% of moms say they have let themselves go." It makes me laugh out loud everytime, because I AM that woman.
THEN (I'm on the right):

NOW (Still in my gym clothes ... I'm shocked at how bad I look today!):

I'm still laughing! Is that really your hair? Holy cow! It's funny when I take Destroy to school in the morning because all the moms dropping their kids off at school are all in their pajamas. Except, of course the ones who work. But it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who doesn't give a lick!
Oh, hahahahahahaha! You're not alone! I just barely threw off my gym clothes and it's 4:30.
As in p.m.
At least we GO to the gym, right?!
You're funny.
