drink up

There's something about cold, crisp water that draws me. The ideal temperature being that of a cup of water where all the ice cubes have melted and left the perfect chill. Typically I get my fix at home by filling up a glass with ice and water and letting it sit for about an hour. Sometimes DH dumps out my brew, thinking I've forgotten about it. Most times my children help themselves and I'm left thirsting. In my life I have found 2 oasis's that have provided the right water with just a push of a button. Miraculous, you say? Yes. The first was a drinking fountain at the RB, the sports facility at my Alma mater. It on the far north side of the building, on the left side of the wall when you walked through two glass doors. Water perfection. The first person that pointed out this marvelous feature was actually my husband, our freshman, the year we met. He would always drink from that fountain each time we came in that door. Later, as a sophomore, when he was in another country, I worked at the laundry room that was just adjacent to this fountain of goodness, so I could partake often. I thought of him each time I drank, and how strange and right he was about the water.
Fast forward 11 years. I have a new fountain. It's at the gym. It's right by the elevators, so it's a bit out of my way of the treadmills to get a drink. But I don't mind. It's worth it for perfection.
I've been thinking about this a lot. I think that it's kind of weird that it's taken a large amount of my thoughts, but maybe that's what stress does to you. Now that it's out, I'll start obsessing about something new ... like how do they make peanut M&Ms?

That's so cute that you had a drinking fountain that reminded you of DH. I love that. I remember a particular drinking fountain in the Smith Field House that took my fancy. I didn't realize that you guys met pre-mission!
