Ketchup time

I been real busy. Here's a ketchup of the week (in reverse chronological order):

Prediction of the Future
Sunday was hair cut day. Here's a picture of the 60-year-old Mr. M. He's doomed to have a hairy back by then from both sides of the family. Too bad for him. At least there's laser removal.

Whistle While You Work

I worked all week on getting all of the wood finished a ready for vinyl. All of the wood had been painted during activities. The blocks by YW. The boards by adults.

Some of the boards ended up with really yucky colors, so I repainted over them and I loved the result! The black over the burnt orange was my fav.

I sealed all of the wood via Matte Spray or Satin Polywhatever. All in all, I have about 130 pieces ready to go. Here's a sneak peek at one of the finished products (more to come as I get some more finished).

Thanks goes to my DH and sisters for helping out in the final push on Saturday. I couldn't have done it without them!

I Tossed My Cookies

Literally. I made cookies for movie night on Saturday. They were the sugared spice cookies, per my children's request. Just as I was taking the second pan out of the oven, the edge of it caught on the oven door hook, which caused a chain reaction, which resulted in the ENTIRE pan ending up at the bottom of the oven in a heap, burning immediately. It happened so fast! I wanted to cry, but I laughed instead. I guess maybe that's where the phrase came from, although I don't see the direct connection between yummy cookies and yucky barf.

I Love a Man ...

Who cooks for me! DH picked up the slack in the culinary department by making a great lasagna. He had the kitchen all set up for the cooking.

The best part of his meal besides the great taste? The kitchen was clean when we all sat down to eat. He surprised me when he said it was an ideal Saturday. I had been painting (per previous paragraph) all day and had nothing to do with the family (which he commented would have made the day even better). The day consisted of a family bike ride by the river, cleaning the house, cooking dinner and family movie night (Meet the Ronbinsons) all sans mom.

We've all loved the easy month, having him around since he was on a 8 to 5 schedule. A great taste of the future. We're back to the grueling 80-100 hour work weeks now that he's back in the PICU. It'll be a long couple of months until Feb., but at least he gets Christmas Eve and Day off!! Yippeee!

Chicken Soup for the Soul

Made a fun soup that I found here. I loved the idea of chicken noodle soup with cutouts.
Of course Princess saw the play dough cookie cutters out (those were smaller than regular cookie cutters) and had to get in the action.
It was fun to make and even funner to eat!

You are one busy woman!?! I don't quite know how you do it! Maybe it is a Steve thing - just taking over and getting everything done (we are both so lucky!). So . . . how do I order me one of those awesome boards? We will talk soon!
