It will be Divine

2009 Goals (some serious, some silly)

•  Embrace the early morning hours as my favorite time of the day (to stem the tide of vile thoughts I now have).

•  Make a large purchase for the second time in our marriage (excluding our van, nothing we've ever purchased has been more than $1,000 ... and even then, only 1 thing was above $500).  Some firsts would be a house, appliances, furniture that's not "early relative" hand-me-downs ...

•  Bring back the 19th century butt and belly look as the "must have look of the year" for women.  That way I don't have to worry about losing mine.

•  Teach Little C how to use the toilet, sleep in a bed and get rid of the binkie ... all while finding the answer to world peace.

•  Reacquaint myself with this man living in my house.  Once residency is behind us (July ... yay!) maybe we'll get to chat in the morning or spend more than fifteen waking minutes together at night.

•  Be a happy mother to my children.

•  Learn how to swim properly so I can complete a triathlon in the fall.

•  Invest in The North Face company, so when I buy copious amounts of their fleece next winter, in order not to freeze my butt off in Idaho, my money is working for me.

•  Celebrate 10 years of marriage in the grand way a decade deserves, which means more than just dinner at Chevy's.

2008 has been great, not be cliche.  I had a healthy pregnancy in which I got to exercise the whole time, making it easy for me to recover quickly both mentally and physically.  We welcomed a healthy baby into the family.  DH has made his responsibilities at work and church seem like a second priority to our family, which makes me happy, even if he really can't be home all the time.  We've been very, very blessed this year.

2009 is a year I've looked forward to for a LONG time.  I knew in 1999, when I married DH, that if everything worked out the way we planned, 10 years down the road we could possibly be done with 7 years of school and 3 years of training.  And here we are.  All of our hopes and dreams coming to fruition in these past 10 years.  Wow ... it's overwhelming how many amazing, wonderful things have happened to us in that time (especially the birth of our 4 kids).

Here's to another great year!

P.S.  starting the year off right ... I just put on my old pre-preg jeans and they fit.  For the first time in my childbearing years I can wear my old size by my 6 wk pp.  This is a nice start.  Hopefully the jeans will still next  year at this time (ha ha, sob).

Wow- you continue to inspire me. The girl with patience- 10 YEARS!!! (not that Steve's not worth it- he so is- just 10 years is a long time to put in....but YOU DID IT!!! And have accomplished so much along the way)
Also- I want to compete with you in the tri- what do you say? You teach me bike, I teach you swim???
Josh just signed us up for the gym and I have got to get back in shape again. So I'm thinking of conquering a tri......and you would be a great source of inspiration/motivation. Call me so we can talk about it!!
And did you realize how much you wrote the word "butt" on this post? just saying.
HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Wow! Congrats on fitting in your jeans- what an accomplishment... You know it's going to be a good year if that's how it began!

You've already had a better start to the new year than I. My annual resolution is to not make any resolutions. Nice huh. I think I may need to go buy a bigger size jeans after all my holiday binging. Happy stinkin' New Year (mine, not yours)!
