Getting ready for the big night. Too bad I didn't read our invite to dinner correctly. It started at 5 p.m. I thought it said 6. So after this shot was taken I got real scary, telling people to hurry their buns.
It took me 2 tries to get Little C's costume just right. Since he couldn't get himself out of the first version to go to the bathroom (a pesky, but necessary evil) I had to remake it from a mechanic's style jumpsuit to a body suit/pants combo. He loves it. Which warms the cockles of my heart and makes all of the unpicking and resizing worth it.
Honey went as Clark Kent.
You can't see the best part of Miss A's costume ... her pink, fur-lined snow boots. They completed the ensemble. I love that this generic fairy costume took a decidedly Missy spin and ended up with a lot of attitude.
Sadly, Mr. M was not photographed. The photographer was busy making balloon animals, scaring kids as a life-sized Darth Vader and trying to please a demanding witchy wife. Sorry Mr. M! He went as Percy Jackson, his new favorite book character. I've been reading these books along with him and they are a great, clean read. We highly recommend them! Anyway, I made him a long-sleeved orange tee that said, "Camp Half-Blood" on it, which he wore with jeans. I'm getting the feeling that this guy is starting to feel a little old for dress up. The night before Halloween, when his shirt still wasn't ready for the school party, he said, "That's okay mom. I'll go as my back up. An alien dressed as a normal kid." And he was fine with that.

Mr. M – so clever, and increasingly more like my Mr. D (stands for either David or Darcy). He loves to come up with clever ways he's "dressed up." Someday they can have a pooper party together.
I wish that I could have been there!
Half Blood! Heh! Cute kids
Julia, I love the costumes. And I can't describe how much I miss your children. Let me run through my thoughts with you: A) Little C's hair is perfect for Superman. B) I let out a squeal of delight when I saw Honey as C's alter-ego. C) Can Miss A be any more sassy? D) Mr. M makes me laugh. I thought it ironic that he went to school as the thing you thought to be a reality when you were his age. How awesome is that?
Could you be any more amazing?!! Still making homemade costumes AND finding time to read a series to Mr. M. I am a little jealous of your amazing abilities!!!
Cute costumes! Looks like everyone had fun!
