Summertime Itch

It's started.  The wind.  A couple of days ago I noticed it got all blustery outside as the sun came up in its highest spot in the sky.  Since then, I've noticed it's consistently blown once it's warmed up (to a balmy 40 degrees).  I think it must mean that Spring is blowing our way, which is exciting, but I distinctly remember hating the wind by May.  I just wanted to run without struggling to breath through it and take my kids in the park and not feel pushing my face around.  But, I'm not complaining (not yet, anyway).

I really do love where we live.  Just this weekend I went for a long run along country roads in the morning.  Then DH took the older kids up the mountain (40 minutes away) to ski for the afternoon.  And then when they returned, I got to go out and eat in the uber cute downtown area.  I mean, what a great place!  I feel like it has it all.  Okay, if we had family here, then we'd really have it all.

A garden catalog came in the mail a couple of days ago.  I'm so excited to plant this spring in our garden boxes we built last summer.  They are just sitting there patiently though the cold weather biding their time, as I am.  I'm waiting for more of this:

Kids playing barefoot in the street ...

Moms avoiding dinner prep to talk a little longer ...

Otter Pop benders ...

Visits from family ...

Walks along the river front ...

Even the monkey swing ...

Camping with friends and family ...

And lazy summer days spent at the pool, in the yard, outside in the sun .... Hmm, is it May yet?

Ha! I was just thinking the exact same thing today! The past 2 days have finally yielded temps above 20 degrees and all the snow and ice melted. I put the kids in short-sleeved shirts today (more a symptom of it being laundry day with no intention of going anywhere). Still, bring on the sun. I'll be hating the warmer temps by August, but right now I can't imagine anything more friendly.

Very cute compilation. I also can't wait until May, for other reasons. :)

I want to go to there...(Liz Lemon):)It looks so beautiful where you are at. I think I could convince Rich to move up there and we could hang out. When we hit the lottery....
