My appearance was the topic of conversation last night. DH and I were talking with Miss A about her upcoming Christmas performance. All of the second grade classes were gathering with their music teacher to sing a few songs for their parents. (Love that my child actually gets to take music classes via school here.)
Me: You need to take a shower in the morning and blow dry your hair.
Miss A: Okay. (pause) Mom, will you take a shower and do your hair nice before you come tomorrow?
Me: Um, sure.
Miss A: Blow dry it. And wear something nice.
Me: Okay (thinking what defines nice?)
Miss A: Will you be bringing Honey and Little C?
Me: Just Honey.
Miss A: Dress him in something really cute, not his pajamas.
Me: Okay.
I felt sufficiently humbled. So she's noticed how her mom looks and it's not what she had in mind. It reminded me of something DH said to me just the day before, out of the blue.
DH: I'm glad your not one of those women who wears their sweat pants every day of the week.
Me: (Looking down at sweat pants currently on) ?????
I'm glad that I have a hair appointment today or I might have done some serious damage to my "look" on my own. At least I don't look like this anymore:
(For Rena, who challenged us to find a photo worse than hers ... I think I win).

:) My oldest was sitting here with my while I read this post. When she saw your picture she said, "WHOA!!! Look at THAT hair!!!" LOL! That is an awesome picture!
Hmmm, but were trying to look good or were you just playing around? See, my look was the result of me actually trying to look attractive. If that is the case with your picture, then you may have the advantage hair-wise. I still win on the chunky/horrible figure side.
Kids, man. They put us in check, don't they! But we are parents, it is our job to embarrass our children any chance we get.....with or without trying. :o)
This is amazing.
I love the hair, Jules. DH would apparently not want someone like me for wife. I wear the SAME sweatpants every day, WITH spit-up (but we talked about this yesterday). Miss A is just proud of you and Honey. She wants to show everyone how cool her mom is.
Wow- look at that volume! Great picture.
Wow, that's quite the hair...
ha ha! That is some hair, mine was just like it when I was a kid! maybe I'll have to find a picture :)
I need your home address. CAn you email me? meggiemads@yahoo.com
I remember that hair!! My high school perms made my hair almost as glamorous as that!
Is there any question why one of your sisters nicknames you Princess Big Hair? I have probably looked at you more than any other person has and I say you are beautiful in any circumstance.
