Tomorrow marks 10 years since Mr. M came screaming into this world, making me a mom and us a family. I could say all the trite things like, I can't believe it's been 10 years ... where did the time go? and it's been a wonderful 10 years, all of which is true. But what it comes down to is this boy of mine is changing right before my eyes and I love it! He's genuinely kind, with just a few moments that are usually reserved for his sister. He loves to read and does so voraciously. He's not particularly inclined to sports, though he continues to try his hand at them, but he has a mind that can take apart a machine in just minutes (we're still working on the putting it back together). And he's quick witted, which is probably my personal favorite attribute. Lately he's made me laugh out loud with his random dry wit.
When asked if he was excited to turn 10, he said, "Finally. A two-digit number."
Love you bud! Thanks for putting up with me and maintaining that I'm your favorite mom.

Oh! Happy Birthday to my Mr. M! I feel like he's mine too, although, obviously, not as much as you do (rightfully so). I have loved watching that dude grow up and it tears at my heart strings that I'm so far away now.
