finally, Halloween

It's been a busy, no crazy-busy, couple of weeks.  There was Halloween, the Trunk-r-Treat I pulled off with friends, my mom's incredible week-long visit and a trip to the desert, all of which I'll try to put to words in the next few days.  But for now, the Halloween costumes.

Little C insisted that I make his whole costume, despite having a Batman shirt already in his drawer.  He also was quite adamant that he be the "Blue Batman," not that black one that all of the stores carried.  So I went whole hog on this one, complete with retro polyester hero pants (underwear as I call them, which C insists are NOT).  Missy wanted to be Cat Woman, but I was against pleather if you're under 18.  I attempted a skirt, but then came across these great pettiskirts at Costco and grabbed it up.  She loved it (evidenced by the fact she wore it 3 days in a row ... Saturday, to church on Sunday and to school on Monday).  Gratefully, Grammie was here to pull me through the Robin costume.  I had given up the night before (Friday) on making his costume.  But Saturday morning (the day of the Trunk-r-Treat) after a great run, I went for it.  We finished it, and Mr. M's Two Face costume, just in time for dad to whisk them off to Boo at the Zoo and for mom and I to start setting up the church building.

As Little C told me this morning:

C:  When's Halloween, Mom?

Me:  Next year, bud.

C:  There's one every year?

Me:  Yup.

C:  Okay, next year we have to make sure our house is haunted because this year we didn't finish it.

Yup.  He's figuring out his mom finishes about 1/2 the things I start.  But at least I got some really cute costumes done because I'll get to enjoy those all year long! (both of the boys are actually wearing their costumes today)

AWE-some. I love it. Love it all. They look fantastic. Look at you. You should have gone as Wonder Woman because that's what you are. Thanks for the photos. Now I don't feel so out of the loop that I'm seeing your children as 2 years younger than they really are.

Love how they turned out! I bet you finish more than half you start. You just have so many good ideas it seems like you don't finish many of them.
