Embracing Crazy

Embracing my crazy, crazy life is my new goal.  Instead of waiting for it go back to "normal."  This month I've been in Utah, Idaho and California (currently in CA).  I've slept in my bed about 10 times.  We celebrated 2 birthdays and Father's Day, though I missed 1/2 of 2 of them and 1 completely.  It's been a whirlwind.

Once school ended we had about 1 week to enjoy summer.  Then the two older kids and I packed into the car to go to Utah.  They had "Spoil Week" with Grandma and Grandpa Dennis.  I ran Wasatch Back with some friends.  It was great.  More than great.  Awesome.  After doing Ragnar in Vegas, I knew what to expect for this one and felt more prepared.  The course was more challenging than Vegas, but so much better in so many ways.  Beautiful, organized, rewarding and fun!  I'm already planning to do another one next year.  Maybe So Cal??

A quick drive home for Father's Day, and I turned around the next day for church Girls' Camp.  It was another great couple of days.  I love camping and being outdoors.  Cascade Lake was breathtaking.  It felt good to be outside again.  On the drive up the Payette River on the side of the highway was just raging with flood waters and it made me itch to go back down the river again.

A couple of days of being home and trying to rest and we hit the road again ... this time for a trip to Sacramento to see Main Man and Grammie.  The cousins (minus 1) are all here.  It's loud and messy and really the best way for kids to spend a week or two!  At the end of the week we all get to drive up to Oregon to see the one tiny missing cousin and his new home with his cute parents.

And so, when people ask how things are, I'll switch my current answer, from "Crazy." to "Ah, the usual."

I want to get a group together to do So Cal next year (because I'm not going to be 8 months pregnant next year!). You'd be welcome to join us!
