When you think to yourself, "Who has time to shower?" you know it's a good summer.
Because seriously, between swimming, and swimming and exercising and ice creaming, who has time to shower? My kids are sticky from head to toe morning, noon and night. Miss A's hair feels like straw. Their shoulders and noses are browned and freckled.
We're barreling through this summer like the sun on its chariot and its showing no signs of slowing down.
And Honey has changed his nightly command (which he utters 10 times as I try to leave the room in darkness and tells me his heart desire for the following day) from "Love you too. Park." to "Love you too. Pool."
So when it's been 3 days since my hair has been properly dried and styled or I'm wearing my "prickly pants" and DH says I'm looking a bit weird, I take it as a compliment and say, "Thank you." Now pass the popsicles.

Ha! Prickly pants. I was just telling someone on Sunday how Lane called my legs prickly pants. It's funny, but not at 9 months pregnant. I miss you. I miss your kids. Jane asks for (Honey)everyday.
I can totally relate to this post! We are filthy all of the time! Summer is the greatest!!!!
Dan has the sense not to mention my spotty, prickly pants. I am always missing spots seeing as there's a baby in the way :) Love you!
Couldn't agree more! It's nice when you feel a small measure of success as a parent simply because you are letting your kids have fun! Love it!
